BRE's real estate investment strategy focuses on increasing the company's presence in its core Western U.S. markets. We are actively looking for opportunities to expand our portfolio through the acquisition of existing apartment communities and the development of new communities. BRE acquires high-quality multifamily properties with 120 units or more, valued from $10 million to $200 million. We also pursue portfolio transactions.

BRE is adept at urban infill developments located close to mass transit and other valued amenities of city life. The company develops three types of apartment communities: high-density urban infill 1) podium and 2) wrap building types, which often include a retail component, and 3) garden-style. However, we are always interested in unique land and properties that are exceptions to the rule.

While most of our transactions are all-cash, we may consider the assumption of existing financing. Complicated deals are our strength. We enjoy the challenge, and have the experience to lead the way to mutually beneficial transactions.
