Bradley P. Griggs, executive vice president and chief investment officer, is responsible for the strategic deployment of capital in the BRE’s Western U.S. markets.

Griggs leads a team of development, construction and acquisition professionals. From 2000 to 2005, BRE’s Investment team delivered 18 new apartment communities, with 4,253 units, and acquired 19 existing communities with 4,724 units, for a total combined investment of approximately $1.3 billion. Presently, his team has a $920 million development pipeline consisting of 13 communities with a total of 3,624 units, located in urban infill locations in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay area and Seattle.

Prior to joining BRE, Griggs was the senior vice president of real estate for the Western United States, for Homestead Village, Inc., a subsidiary of Security Capital Group, Inc. Griggs has also served as senior real estate executive in the single-family home industry for The Fieldstone Company, Inc., and Ryland Homes, Inc., in Southern California, overseeing the development of more than 5,000 production homes. Prior, Griggs oversaw an apartment division in the Inland Empire for Pacific Scene Properties, Inc.

Griggs earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from the California Polytechnic State University. He is a registered California architect, and is an active participant in various building industry associations
